about me
I'm Tate
I'm a Dallas based newborn & family photographer and have the joy of raising three babies with my college sweetheart.
I went to Baylor University (Sic' Em Bears) and received my Bachelors in Nursing. I worked in various specialities before finding my niche in women's health. I quickly realized my passion for serving women & their families during one of the most important times of their lives.
After welcoming my first daughter, I decided to become a stay at home mom. We welcomed two more babies, yet I deeply craved serving families. And that's how Tate Smith Photography was born.
As a former postpartum nurse turned family photographer, I have the unique ability to understand the highs and lows that come with motherhood. My hope is to help my clients feel beautiful, treasured, and valued for who they are.

A few things you should know

I became a christian in 2016 after my world shattered after breaking up with my fiance. God used the brokenness of my life for good & has redeemed it... and then he restored that broken engagement. My husband & I were married 2 years later.

My favorite people call me wife & mama. We have two girls and one boy, and they are so much fun. It's chaotic, messy, and a blast. I can't imagine life without them.

I am a natural light photographer. When I do indoor sessions, I photograph with the lights off & near windows to maximize the beautiful glow of the sun.

I have partnered with the organization Abel Speaks which supports families of children with a life limiting diagnosis. I have the immense privilege of serving these families with photographs of their family.

On the weekends, you'll typically find our crew at the park, running around in the neighborhood, or grabbing an early dinner with friends.

I'm a sucker for glittery Golden Goose sneakers, Torchy's tacos, and a Dr, Pepper Zero.
