Meet Tate
Tate Smith is a Dallas–Fort Worth–based portrait photographer specializing in timeless, heartfelt images of families, newborns, and children. A former nurse turned full-time artist, Tate brings the same compassion, calm presence, and attention to detail she once used in mother–baby care into every session she photographs.
Known for her fine-art approach and high-touch experience, Tate provides custom styling guidance, artwork design, and a seamless process from start to finish. Each image is created to be more than just a photo — it’s a piece of your family’s story, meant to be lived with, displayed, and cherished for years to come.

My faith deeply impacts my life- whether it's the way that I serve clients or prioritize my time with my kids. I want every client to feel loved, chosen, and seen.

My favorite people call me mama. I have two girls and one boy, and they are so much fun. It's chaotic, messy, and a blast. I can't imagine life without them.

I am a natural light photographer. When I do indoor sessions, I photograph with the lights off & near windows to maximize the beautiful glow of the sun.

I have partnered with the organization Abel Speaks which supports families of children with a life limiting diagnosis. I have the immense privilege of serving these families with photographs of their family.

On the weekends, you'll typically find my crew at the park, running around in the neighborhood, or grabbing an early dinner with friends.

I'm a lover of Dr. Pepper Zero, going to the gym, and playing with my miniature dachshund, Biscuit.
